Sweater- Forever 21
Beanie- Zara
This post was from a few months back in the Fall, when it wasn’t as cold as it is now….I
was complaining about the weather then but I definitely wish I could go back to that time
because its even colder now.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this look with you when my friend and I was playing
around with the camera and then decided that this would make a great blog post. I know
I’ve posted a tremendous amount of all grey outfits in the past but its too good for me to
pass up…especially when I want to find something quick and easy to wear.
I consider this look to be a pretty simple, laidback attire mainly because it’s what I’d wear
on a quick run around the city for errands or so. I’m wearing this warm chunky knit
sweater paired with a tailored and almost “work” inspired pants. I threw on my oversized
neoprene jacket and some comfy boots but I could definitely see myself styling this look
with some cute heels and a leather biker jacket.
Let me know what you think!

Pale Skies

Sweater- Forever 21
Vest- H&M
Shoes- Miista

Just giving a quick post on a look I wore on a snowy day. Strange enough, it was snowing but not very cold so I just wore a chunky sweater and over oversized faux leather vest with some tight skinny pants. Of course I was wearing a scarf but for the purpose of the shoot I decided not to show it because it would cover the delicate beauty of the sweater.
I’m actually surprized that I haven’t worn  this vest sooner this season…but it came out at the right time because its so useful when you want to feel warm and comfy but not uncomfortable with a thousand layers. I like to go very minimal in the jewelry area during the winter months, only because I usually have to wear gloves and necklaces seem unnecessary if there’s a huge scarf covering it.

Take Off From The Start

Casual moments in Williamsburg is the one things I look forward to on weekends.

Fuzzy Sweater- Similar
Pants- Nasty Gal
Biker Jacket- Similar

I finally decided to take this awesome biker jacket for a stroll about two weekends ago during the leisure time I spend vintage browsing and store gazing in Williamsburg. This whole year, comfort has become a major element in my wardrobe. So, I’ve been wearing pieces that can easy fit with each other that doesn’t quite take too much time deciding in the mornings on what to wear.
For this look I wore my warm and fuzzy top that I’m completely obsessed with because it’s literally the softest thing in my closet right now. Because it’s pure white it exhumes such a clean and fresh vibe hence, I went along to pair it with something a little more on the edgy side which is the plaid pants.
This ensemble is a bit more of what I usually like to wear when ever its not too freezing outside, as I am able to wear just a biker jacket and be good for the day. I kept it pretty simple for the accessories mainly because I wanted it to just be a more breathable and slightly simple look.

Eager Eyes

Casual days. Yes, I’m wearing jeans.
Sweater- H&M
Boots- Zara

I was a bit reluctant to post this look, mainly because it’s so far fetched from my usual style and I was feeling super lazy the day I got dressed. However, I decided to just go ahead and share because I feel like everyone has one of those off days plus sometimes it feels good to dress down a little.
I believe I shared these mom jeans here on the blog once before during the Summer so, this time around I’m styling it in a more Fall attire with a bit of a bohemian/hipster inspired vibe.
This look was worn for a full day of classes and I was super comfortable all day, minus my friends pointing out that they’ve never seen me wear jeans before haha.
It’s starting to get extra cold here in NY, and I’m definitely not happy about that because all I want to do is stay indoors. I’ll be sure to post a lot more looks here on the blog but if you’d like to keep up with my collection developments you can always follow me on Instagram @marfarlane

Portal Of My Soul

Dark, mysterious and Witchy vibe here on the blog today, just in time for the celebration of Halloween.

Black and White Sweater- Forever 21
Cape- H&M
Pants- Zara

The cape comes out whenever I want to capture a polished look that has the ability to give any outfit that little extra oomph, which is never a bad thing. I’m not all entirely into this whole halloween craze..in fact, I grew up in a culture that never really celebrated halloween so I guess for me the whole dressing up in costume on the 31st isn’t quite the norm. However, I must say it can be quite fun to get dressed up and be who ever you want for that one night.

Even though this isn’t an actual halloween post, I could definitely see a witchy or vampy inspiration somewhere within this look. I changed things up a bit and wore my cyber Mac lipstick with an all black ensemble, complimented with hints of white. This was actually a look I wore to class that day and it was kind of fun going back to my grunge roots of my early blogging days.
I added the o-ring choker and my draped pyramid necklace for extra effects to drive some interest into the look since,  wearing all black can sometimes come off flat on camera.

Prior Lost Sorrows

If it could be Summer forever, that would make my life so much better. I think the most I’ll miss about the Summer is the fact that I could step outside my apartment bare legged in short shorts and not give a care in the world because I won’t have to face the cold wind rushing across my skin.
Vintage rings will forever be an obsession of mine, especially silver ones that overtime the under layer of copper begins to show through, giving a very rusty vibe which I love….it gives a little character to the jewelry in my opinion.
Possibly the most comfortable boots I’ve own in awhile. These was my best purchase of the Summer as I can’t take them off my feet and they’ll literally become a uniform to my attire for classes.

Ribbed Cropped Top- Necessary Clothing
Short- Forever 21
Chiffon Top- H&M
Boots- Zara
Draped Necklace- Guess
Rings- Vintage
A lot of my post from now will literally be mostly grey combinations, mainly because I’ve become completely obsessed with wearing and buying any piece of clothing that’s grey. That’s possible the main reason I’ve also slowed down in blogging as my person style is changing drastically and for some reason I’m starting to hate everything in my closet. Maybe it’s just a phase but either way, I’m going through a bit of a revamping of closet (late spring cleaning).
For this look I chose to pair a basic ribbed top to be worn with my favourite pair of shorts that I’ve style several times here on the blog. I wanted to do a subtle mixing of prints, so I wore my airy abstract floral top and styled it as cardigan for a extra layer to give depth to the look. I went a bit heavy on the jewelry since there was such a light aura to the way I paired each piece of clothing. Of course, no look could be complete with a great pair of black boots and my usual messy hair.
Also, I wanted to invite you all to join in on entering a giveaway from one of these three beautifully and rather detailed necklaces shown above. I know for sure I can swear by Michal Golan jewelry because all their pieces are literally perfection! All you have to do to enter is like Michal Golan on Facebook  then click this link>> Michal Golan to enter all your information for a chance to win this amazing prize. Latching On To You

Romper- H&M
Boots- Zara
Faux Leather Jacket- Thrift
Just giving a quick update of a look I wore about a few weeks ago for a night out in the city. My typically go-to look for a night out is anything loose fitting and easy to wear. I don’t like wearing clothes that are too heavy or even shoes that I know I’d be in pain after 30 mins into the night so, my main concern it always comfort. For this look, I’m wearing a navy romper that has this pretty cool cut out back detail which I wish I was able to show but a lot of the shots that were taken for this look got destroyed. Any whose, I  pair the romper with a faux leather jacket for a more edgy vibe plus it gets a little chilly at nights so I guess you could say it was also worn for functionality hahaha.
Looking back on this look, I wish I had gone with a better hair option…maybe tousled a bit to one side with a few curled pieces. Maybe I should rethink that one next time. I went for minimal jewelry by wearing silver accents to compliment the overall outfit. Hope you like this quick post, that can be wore for both a casual attire and for a more dress up occasion. I have loads of fun posts coming up soon so stay tuned for those.

Broken Bells

Casual spring day.

Sweater- H&M
Skirt- AMI Clubwear
Scarf- Vintage
Shoes- UNIF Holy Grail
Evil Eye Ring- Michal Golan

What I love most about spring is that, you can mix both warm and cool colours and it’ll still portray a great look. Since the Spring season started, I’ve been trying my best to stay away from all black looks…mainly because we had such a long and miserable Winter here in New York and all I wore then was all black from head-to-toe. So, incorporating for colours for this season shall be my main aim.
For this look, I kept it pretty casual in a lightweight pull over sweater by H&M. I don’t typically like wearing too much florals but the great thing about the florals on this sweater is that its not really overbearing and the placement hits in just the right spots. Since this look could have quickly turned into and black and white combo, I added a bold element of surprise by wearing this lovely vintage scarf that I’ve had since forever. Right now I’m in the middle of packing all my things in boxes and it’s so funny how I found so many things in my closet that I thought I had lost forever. This scarf happens to be one that I thought I had lost…well, it reapppeared one day and I knew I had to incorporate it in my look somehow before it turned into Summer and got too hot to wear.
For accessories, I decided to go with a bold statement necklace, possibly one of my favourite necklace of all time…mainly because there is so much history and a whole backstory on how I even got the necklace in the first place (good time in Jamaica). I’m also wearing one of my newest edition to my jewelry family, Michal Golan’s evil eye pendant ring. I’ll give more details on the brand on a post coming up later on this week so stay tuned for that.

Sippin On Sunshine

Chiffon Blouse- Vintage
Turtleneck Top- Forever 21
Skirt- H&M
Bag- Nasty Gal
Sunglasses-Zero UV
Oh how I missed wearing this reflector sunglasses on warm sunny days. Though the weather has been pretty much up and down here in New York, the day I wore this look was surprizingly really nice sunny day! I got so excited that I had to walk around the area and snap some pictures as well.
So for today on the blog, I’m giving a pink and black ensemble with a touch of green/blue shades. I’m not quite sure what possessed me to actually wear pink but sometimes it’s good to switch things up a bit so, I kind of just went with the flow and didn’t really question it too much.
This was just a pretty quick post before a head out to my classes for today, I have three more weeks left of school and I couldn’t be more happy!
