Mind Mischief

Black and White Scarf- Made by me
Coat- Nasty Gal
Concho Hat- Forever 21
Scully Platform- Jeffrey Campbell
On a cozy day, I like to layer  strategically that will allow me to go ‘pantless’ but still keep as warm as possible. Good thing the day I actually wore this look was warm enough for me to just wear stockings to be paired with my oversized sweater dress and a nice heavy wool coat from Nasty Gal.
To spark a little interest and as an additional texture, I chose to where this pretty cool black and white scarf that I made in class. The scarf is designed like a sort of shawl so it goes over the head and sits on the shoulders, which makes it easy to pull over and pair with any outift. It works more like an interest piece rather than actually keeping you warm but I think of it as a fun accessory piece.
I hope you all had an awesome thanksgiving weekend, I definitely did as I went to Atlanta to visit family and then partake in a little shopping spree but it was all fun and I’m now back in NY, ready to take one the last week of classes.

Walking Dreamer

Black and lace has always been such a go-to look for me…whether during the Summer, Fall or Winter. One weekend in Brooklyn I decided to go for a dark witchy look, with enough chiffon pleats and a feminine aura.
I almost never wear midi length skirts because it can sometimes come off a bit awkward looking on me but, when I found this skirt about a month ago in Forever 21 I was pretty surprised that the length didn’t bother me as much…its slowly becoming one of my favourite piece in my closet.

Lace Top- Nasty Gal
Pleated Skirt- Forever 21
Though I’m currently revamping my style and closet, this was a look I wore few weeks ago while prancing around Williamsburg in Brooklyn. It was very sunny yet I’m not quite sure what possessed me  to wear a full on black attire. However, the fact that everything I had on was very lightweight and airy, made it so much easier for me to go through the day without sweating like a pig.
I kept it pretty low key on the accessories because I really wanted the beauty of the lace to speak for itself rather than overpowering everything with loads of jewelry. So since I had a bit of a low cut top, it was only right to add a bit of a statement piece around my neckline as the main accessory.
Anywhos, I’m back to being super busy as I’m back in school again, finishing up my BFA p.s I already got a bolt load of homework!
For any of my followers back in school, wishing you the best of luck and thanks for visiting!

Fall To Pieces

Mixing prints has always been such a favourite thing of mine to do…there’s just something about trying to combine two completely different prints/pattern and creating an interesting outfit.
I kept my hair simple and messy, like I usually do as the “bed head” look always seems like the easiest go-to styling.

Crosswalk Top- Nasty Gal
Skirt- Forever 21
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell

At the very beginning of the Summer, I remember styling this aztec inspired mini skirt in a post back when I lived in the city (SEE HERE). The styling was pretty different back then, as there was a much more polished feminine quality about how I had chose to pair things. However, this time around I wanted to the styling to be a little less feminine and slightly possessive so I paired the skirt with more darker elements and less accessories.
The top I’m wearing is one I got from Nasty Gal and didn’t quite think I’d actually like it or even wear it  but it seemed fitting for this look as the surprising element at the back adds for a bit of un expectance with these ginormous buckles crisscrossing each other. The look itself is great for Summer and with the addition of the black kimono it could also serve as a great transitional look from Summer to Fall, with little tweaks here and there. Summer is almost over and I’m really sad that I’ll have to go back to long hours working in the studio plus no more super sunny weather… oh well that’s just the game of life. The Flower Of My Soul

In the Summer, I enjoy letting my hair down, wearing pretty dresses that dances along with the wind and being carefree as possible. I never want to Summer to end…the sunny days, walks by the park and the outdoor movie nights will be missed once the Fall has taken over.

Silver accents to compliment this simplistic look for a day of adventuring around the city with a good friend of mine.

Dress- Nasty Gal
Necklace- Tillys
Shoes- Forever 21
Oh how I love this girly dress that I’ve had for awhile, hanging in my closet but didn’t choose to wear it until now. Even though the Summer is coming to a close pretty soon, I can get over my mini obsession with short,  flowy and lightweight Summer dresses. This one is now once of my favourite because the fabric is soo soft and lightweight plus, the little cut out detail in the back I could call a piece of perfection as it allows for a bit of a surprise element to an otherwise typical floral dress.
The day I wore this dress as a pretty adventurous movie day for me… I went to see both an indoor and outdoor movie and ate so much food with my friend and thankful I brought a little lightweight knit sweater for when it got cold in the night. With some light make up and my usual messy hair, my outfit was complete and ready to take on the days activities.

Caged Into You: The Style Alien x Michal Golan

Dress- Chicwish
Shoes- Nasty Gal
Necklace- Michal Golan
So this is part 2 of my Michal Golan collaboration, to see part 1 click>> here
This is pretty much the complete opposite of the first, with a more dark and mystery vibe going on. I’ve had this dress for months and loved it so much but the occasion never really came along for me to wear it so it was just stuck in my closet hiding in the back somewhere with all the rest that I once convinced myself that I’d wear someday.
I finally mustard up the courage to take this “little black dress” for a spin one Sunday afternoon for dinner at one of my favourite restaurants on the Upper East side of New York. I love that this dress is extremely loose fitting and I really don’t mind that its a trapeze shaped because it’s summer and who really wants to wear a dress that sticks to your skin like hot glue?…I know I don’t. Possibly my favourite element to this dress is the cage like neckline that reminds me of a slightly the more detailed version of the Deandri’s harnesses that I use to wear about a year ago. Since receiving the evil eye ring from Michal Golan, it hasn’t really left my finger! I just love the design and you can never really go wrong with evil eye jewelry…I’d have plenty if it was up to me…In fact, I’ve been gushing over these ones also from Michal Golan>>Turquoise Freshwater Pearl Bracelet , Angular Evil Eye Necklace and this! Angular Evil Eye Necklace. Make sure to check them out!

King and Tigerheart

Shorts- Similar
Shoes- UNIF
Bag- Nasty Gal
Serving a semi all white look today. When I received this white top with an art pop inspired tiger print all over, I was dying to wear it instantly mainly because the pop of colour against the white is pure perfection. I then paired the top with a loose fitting shorts that I’ll possibly be wearing a whole lot this summer because it brings such a light airy vibe and is super comfortable. I wore this look one day when I was strolling around Soho…funny enough it rained exactly after I was finish shooting this look.
Its so warm now in New York, all I want to wear these days are loose lightweight dresses that hangs from my body so I’ll share some of those looks with you soon.
So far my summer has been going good, I’ve been hanging out with friends mostly and just exploring New York like never before. Sadly its raining and ugly today so I may just stay in bed and watch movies hahaha.

Velvet Crop Top- Necessary Clothing
Vest- Forever 21
Trousers- Zara
Sandal- Nasty Gal

So I hate using the phase “business casual” because it could have such a broad meaning and can get very confusing. However, I’d like to think of this look as a more casual attire that is the perfect amount of “dressed up” while still being very laid back. I love men’s inspired looks so sometimes in my outfits, I’ll take inspiration from men’s garments and twist it in a way that works well for me.  I also managed to pull my hair back in a sleek bun, mainly because I was feeling too lazy to deal with it, but it ended up coming out good surprisingly. I’ll most likely wear a look like this to my internship or simply just to school, the latter was what I actually did.
To make this look less “serious”, I added jewelry of course. I wore both my favourite choker and a gypsy inspired silver necklace that I randomly bought in an NY boutique while cruising around the city. I’ll be doing a full jewelry post very soon as requested, and I also have a giveaway coming up so stay tuned for that!

Sippin On Sunshine

Chiffon Blouse- Vintage
Turtleneck Top- Forever 21
Skirt- H&M
Bag- Nasty Gal
Sunglasses-Zero UV
Oh how I missed wearing this reflector sunglasses on warm sunny days. Though the weather has been pretty much up and down here in New York, the day I wore this look was surprizingly really nice sunny day! I got so excited that I had to walk around the area and snap some pictures as well.
So for today on the blog, I’m giving a pink and black ensemble with a touch of green/blue shades. I’m not quite sure what possessed me to actually wear pink but sometimes it’s good to switch things up a bit so, I kind of just went with the flow and didn’t really question it too much.
This was just a pretty quick post before a head out to my classes for today, I have three more weeks left of school and I couldn’t be more happy!

Mirror Maru

Painted floral top- Vintage
Sheer blouse- Thrift
Skirt- Zara
Bag/Sachel- Nasty Gal
Cat-eye Sunglasses- Zero UV
Keeping it cool in basic pieces to put together a good “almost all black” Spring look. The day I wore this outfit was probably a worse day for me to wear a mini skirt because it was so windy and as much as I was able to keep my composure during shooting, my skirt was flying everywhere! hahaha. Anyways, I sacrificed it all for this look where I wore mainly black pieces and paired them with some pops of colour here and there to stray slightly away from a early fall look to a more spring inspired look for those like me who still like to wear dark colours for every season. I think my favourite this of this entire look would really have to be this beautiful faux snake skin bag that I’ve been wearing non stop ever since I bought it from Nasty Gal about two months ago. Sadly it’s now sold out but you can still check out the other great bags they have on their site.
I think I mentioned before that my style is highly influenced by the music I listen to in the mornings when getting dressed and for this post I dedicated it to one my favourite EP of all time by Cashmere Cat. I’m so in love with the all the tracks and could literally listen them forever! Check it out below and let me know what you think and you could also recommend me any songs that you like. Thanks for visiting, have a great day.
