Sweater- Forever 21
Beanie- Zara
This post was from a few months back in the Fall, when it wasn’t as cold as it is now….I
was complaining about the weather then but I definitely wish I could go back to that time
because its even colder now.

Anyways, I just wanted to share this look with you when my friend and I was playing
around with the camera and then decided that this would make a great blog post. I know
I’ve posted a tremendous amount of all grey outfits in the past but its too good for me to
pass up…especially when I want to find something quick and easy to wear.
I consider this look to be a pretty simple, laidback attire mainly because it’s what I’d wear
on a quick run around the city for errands or so. I’m wearing this warm chunky knit
sweater paired with a tailored and almost “work” inspired pants. I threw on my oversized
neoprene jacket and some comfy boots but I could definitely see myself styling this look
with some cute heels and a leather biker jacket.
Let me know what you think!

Plaid Heavens

Wear Winter white with a pop of red and navy blue blue for an airy Winter attire.

 Sweater- UNIF

 Dress- Forever 21

So after a super long break, I’ve finally come back to my usual full time blogging. If you follow me on

Instagram, you’d see that I have been all over the place visiting family for the holidays and also in the
midst of completing a personal collection for my portfolio.
Its been hectic for sure but I definitely missed blogging. I back from the warmth of Jamaica and smacked
in the middle of this crazy Winter in New York. This look is one of the first I wore thus far since being
back and its a been of a clean almost all white look for the dramatics of blending in with that pure white
of the snow.

I’m wearing my cozy UNIF  sweater from last season, layered on top of this beautiful lacey dress and tons
of other unseen layers underneath that actually allowed me to weather this look without freezing
completely to death. I added the touch of the plaid as an extra layer for warmth and also to give the look
a bit of colour.

I can’t wait to share a lot of Winter looks and I hope where ever in the world you are, keep warm!

Pale Skies

Sweater- Forever 21
Vest- H&M
Shoes- Miista

Just giving a quick post on a look I wore on a snowy day. Strange enough, it was snowing but not very cold so I just wore a chunky sweater and over oversized faux leather vest with some tight skinny pants. Of course I was wearing a scarf but for the purpose of the shoot I decided not to show it because it would cover the delicate beauty of the sweater.
I’m actually surprized that I haven’t worn  this vest sooner this season…but it came out at the right time because its so useful when you want to feel warm and comfy but not uncomfortable with a thousand layers. I like to go very minimal in the jewelry area during the winter months, only because I usually have to wear gloves and necklaces seem unnecessary if there’s a huge scarf covering it.

Optimistic Coocoon

One of those colder days where my oversized scarf is necessary.
Scarf- Thrifted
Top- Vintage
This scarf is literally always becomes my favourite each fall/winter season, because you can’t quite deny its warmth and beauty. Usually I find some tie-dye very tacky and not within my taste but I guess I was so lucky two years ago when I found this black and white beautifully tie-dye scarf in a thrift store. As you can see, it’s super oversized and can be worn several ways but for some reason I chose to wear it like this big cocoon shawl.
Underneath, I just wore my black and gold top layered on top of a black collared blouse. I was also wearing my pleaded black skirt but because I wanted to show of the beauty of the scarf, I didn’t make it the focal point for the purpose of this post.
My finals are almost over and I can’t wait to be done with them and head back home to Jamaica for the holidays! plus, I’ll be able to post more regularly on the blog because I have so many ideas of posts that I could do. Hope you all have a great day!

Power Trip

Just another day, layering to keep me warm and comfy on cold days.
Shearling Matte Jacket- Similar
Blue Biker Jacket- Similar or (here)
Embroidered Sweater- H&M
Trousers- Zara
It’s funny to think that there are areas of my closet that are actually filled with coloured items which I neglect 95% of the time and then an all black section that is like my baby. However, once in awhile i like to dip into the coloured section and chose one stand out color to vibe with for the day.
If you’ve remembered any of my previous post from last Fall, I was absolutely obsessed with this bright royal blue biker jacket and still can’t quite get over how much I love it.
I love rich colours that are able to enhance a look completely and this is exactly what I wanted for this look. I wore this ensemble this past weekend and honestly, I just wanted to walk around Brooklyn and get some fresh air. So, I literally just pulled out the quickest thing I could put together without looking crazy and then there was the birth of this look.

Space Between The Crave

One of the rare moments when I suddenly decide to wear lots of colours.
Romper- Necessary Clothing
Boots- UNIF
Necklace- Vintage

Clusters of florals, something new that I’ve never quite worn before or have ever really been too fond of. This romper was one of those life saving pieces in my closet…on the day I wore this look,  the scorching sun in NY seemed unbearable and because of the sheer, super lightweight qualities of this romper I was able to frolic around without melting to my death.

Sometimes I like to allow myself to wear something out of the blue that I usually wouldn’t and surprizingly for this look, I loved how this look came out. I decided to add a touch of turquoise jewelry to compliment the feminine qualities of the romper and opted for chunky boots for a more casual daytime look.

Concho

Jumper- Similar
Boots- H&M
Concho Hat- Similar
I’ve been literally searching high and low, with the aim of finding the perfect concho hat…and I eventually did but it was way too expensive for me. Originally, I wanted the UNIF concho hat (here) but once I saw that price was like the cost of two of my hats then I just decided to wait until it either went on sale or just give up looking overall. Lucky for me, I somehow got myself onto the Forever 21 page and happen to find a concho hat there, which unfortunately is now sold out. I paired this lovely hat with a oversized cowl neck sweater that was actually given to me by my sister  before I came back from Jamaica in the summer. I’ve been dying for it to be cold enough for me to wear it because it pretty thick but surely keeps you warm.
I think I’ve posted me wearing pants three times in a row for like the first time ha. Yes, it has gotten so cold in New York that all I can do is wear pants and knitted sweaters. I even wore a coat over the jumper in this post but ended up leaving that one out of the post.

Wonderwall

Top- Vintage
Flared Skirt- Romwe
Hat- Zara
Boots- H&M
Possibly the worst day to wear a mini flared skirt and a hat. It was super windy when I wore this look, not to mention cold! and typical me decided to shoot on the rooftop of my apartment. This look is pretty much what I’d wear on a normal day around the city and there’s no going wrong when it really comes to wearing black and white. Technically, I was wearing my thick woolen coat over this look since it was so cold and my skirt was pretty much flying everywhere. I usually like to go for very feminine rocker-esque looks, where I can pair my moto jackets with a girly touch of something as simple as the super flared babydoll skirt because it makes a look ten times more fun and is a perfect look for both day and night time. To make this look a lot more casual, I went with wearing my lace-up combat boots  with cute checkered hosiery that you can get pretty much get in any clothing store, like forever 21 or even ebay. Anyways, I had a well rested weekend and I think I’m ready to tackle this week. All the best to you all!

Dirty Little Secrets

Sharing a grey palette with silver accents from my jewelry

Dress- Evil Twin from Urban Outfitters
Shoes- UNIF Grail Platforms from Dolls Kill
You all are probably tired of seeing me in this color palette by now, and I will say I have  been so lazy these past few days… so anything that I can slip on quickly to rush to my classes I’m prettty much down for it and for some reason I always grab for the greyscale colors. In this post, I’m wearing this really cute dress from Evil Twin that has this slightly ragged look to it mainly because of its charcoal grey color, and the fact that it fits me like a little oversized dress. I thought of pairing this dress with a leather sleeveless vest but later on decided that it would possibly clash with the intricate texture of the dress  so, I opted for a chunky necklace to sit right on top of that rounded neckline. It was pretty winding when I wore this dress so I wore it with a thick dark stockings, which is perfect for days when it gets a little chilly and you don’t want to wear pants. I finished off the look by adding some UNIF to the mix with my grail platforms that added some extra spice to the overall look. Tomorrow’s my birthday and I couldn’t be anymore excited for it to come, so if you want to get updates on what I’ll be doing or wearing you can follow me on Instagram @marfarlane

Chain Reaction

Evil Barbie Cropped Top- Dolls Kill
UNIF Grail Platforms- Dolls Kill
Braided Fringe Cardigan- Vintage
Black and white with silver accents, has practically become my uniform these past weeks. I’m not quite sure if you all are exhausted of seeing me in this combination but it’s quite obvious I’m not getting over it any time soon hahaha… I just love it! I wore my evil barbie crop tee and overlayed it with a tight fitting high neck crop top to give it a different look because I didn’t want to seem to repetitive with wearing just a plain tee. I paired this with my distressed mesh maxi skirt to give to more hardcore rocker appeal, with sheer stockings and knee high socks to give it more depth to the look…plus it was cold so that helped a little. Of course this look wouldn’t be complete with the help of my platform babies which definitely gave it the edgy look that I was going for. It’s almost the weekend and I couldn’t be happier…this weekend was completely exhausting for me so I need to weekend to arrive so I can blow off some steam
