Echoes In The Halls

As I enjoy this sizzling summer, I choose to go pretty simple with my daily outfits. With messy untouched hair, light make-up and a two piece sets…it definitely makes for a comfortable day visiting my favourite cafe spot in Brooklyn.IMG_0425 IMG_0410 IMG_0393 IMG_0459 IMG_0364 IMG_0450 IMG_0358Top & Shorts Set- Forever 21 | Vest- Nasty Gal | Boots- H&M

This look is a completely toned down version of my last post, as I chose to go a lot more simpler with the styling of this white lace two piece shorts set. I literally fell so in love with this set when I first saw it because it was so simple and elegant and felt like one of those pieces that could easily transition into almost any occasion. I could definitely see myself pairing each piece as a stand alone because the richness of the lace makes for a item for combining with other pieces in my closet.

I decided to keep it pretty simple with just layering lightly with my black vest and a solid pair of dark brown boots that are super comfortable and easy to wear. I sort of wished I wore a necklace or maybe a choker, but sometimes just being simple works perfectly.

Sweater- Forever 21, Neoprene Skirt- Zara, Dolman Coat- H&M, Platform Boots- UNIF

I can’t believe I went through most of the Winter  completely forgetting about this sweater which I adore so much. Though I’ve had it for quite sometime, it’s still very comfort piece for me and is super easy to layer on top of anything.

For this look, I paired it with my mini neoprene skirt and an oversized Dolan coat as an additional layer. This is a very simple look for me, mainly because I’m not wearing too many layers and its a look I’d wear this on a typical day to classes. It’s nice when you can put together a look that is simple and to the point, especially on days when you’re in a rush to get to your destination.

Sweater- Romwe  Vest- Necessary Clothing  Skirt- Necessary Clothing   Hat- Tillys  Boots- H&M

It’s been awhile since I’ve worn this this beautiful digitally printing sweater that I got about two years ago from Romwe. I remember loving it so much because the colours are so rich and the graphics is insanely cool which was a definite plus.

Since the weather in NY has been ridiculously gloomy, snowy and annoying, I thought it would be great to go completely against that and wear some bold colours mixed in with neutral colours of grey and browns.  Of course I added my panama hat because it always seems to perfectly complete a look for me.

This is a typical look I’d wear on the weekends doing leisure activities. Sort of an artsy urban vibe with simple put together pieces and comfy boots.

Yes, The Style Alien has officially moved to a new hosting site and I couldn’t be happier. I delayed posting looks for awhile so that I could get everything perfected and to my liking so I’m exciting to share with you on the new layout of the site!

Aside from that, things have been really hectic between working on independent collections and getting ready to head back to school however, posting on here might be the only thing keeping me really sane sometimes. For this post, I decided to share this look I wore around a week ago right before I went to lunch in Williamsburg with a friend.

It was super cold obviously, so in typical Martina fashion…I decided to pile on a bunch of thick layers to help in keeping me warm in this dreadful weather. I wore a cute long black sweater that have this lace detail attached to it which is pretty cool, then I layered with my royal blue biker jacket as a pop colour  against the black with another layer of my oversized faux leather vest.

Let me know what you think of my new layout!
