White Florale

IMG_1094IMG_1115Lace and florals are one of my favourite combinations, perfect for a casual Summer attire.IMG_1136IMG_1086Just sharing another one of these fun looks I did while I was spending time at my sister home in Atlanta. This look for me is very casual but perfect for the outdoors under a bright sunlight. The dress I’m wear is one of my favourites this Summer because its so lightweight and airy but still has a very girlie look to is. I chose to lightly layer it with a white lace top for that extra Summer touch. Since I was running around in the field, I saw it best to wear my comfy flat oxford shoes that I’ve been sporting around a lot in… it was perfect for that day and also all casual occasions. Let me know what you think of this look and tell me what you would wear for a casual Summer day outdoors.

Illated

IMG_0906I love living in Brooklyn, where I’m able to roam the streets of Williamsburg on the weekends with awesome friends full of laughter and carefree… The fact that my friend and I basically went restaurant hoping for around 30 mins, simply because there were so many options to decide from and we’re both oh so indecisive. IMG_0893During our restaurant contemplation, we stopped by the Brooklyn Flea, which was full of cool things, mostly vintage items perfect for the Brooklyn stereotype.IMG_0918 IMG_0924 IMG_0898Some cute vintage Hawaiian shirt that kind reminded me of being back in Jamaica.

Dress & Shoes- Forever 21

Overall it was a pretty great day spent in Williamsburg. It was super hot which is why this oversized A-line dress fit perfectly for the occasion, as I was able to keep very cool and comfortable. The embroidery on the dress is my favourite part about it because it gives such a Baroque feeling, contrasting against the darkness of the dress.

I kept it pretty simply, and just an awesome silver necklace made out of tiny little spoons and flat loafers from Forever 21 kept me extra comfortable since we were walking around a whole lot. Face The Sun

IMG_0867 IMG_0821On a hot Summer day, wearing denim seems to always go unsaid. It keeps me cool and comfy, while beaming a Summer vibe. So when a good friend of mine texts me to hang out, the quickest thing I could pull together was this light denim top with the perfect pant combination.IMG_0850 IMG_0810 IMG_0788 IMG_0785 IMG_0883 IMG_0805 IMG_0793

It’s very rare I find a denim anything that I’d actually like so when I stumbled upon this loose fitting denim shirt one day while online shopping, I think I surprized myself when I placed it in the cart and went through the whole nine of purchasing it. I’m definitely happy I made that choice because this shirt definitely came in handy. The loose boxy fit gives a sense of airiness, plus it’s a light wash making it very easy to style with other pieces as well as oozing a feeling of Summer.

I paired it with my black and white plaid trousers that I’ve previously style a few times here on the blog but, this time around I styled it was the “pop piece” in this look to compliment the simplicity of the top and of course, I took my new Dr Martens heeled boot out for a spin for the first time since receiving them. I have to say it’s a pretty comfortable boot, the total opposite of what I expected it to be. These boots are really great for summer being part sandal, part boot… and it s sort of bondage quality gives it such a nice edge. To finish of the look, I chose to accesorize with a slightly statement necklace and one of my favourite pair of sunnies for the Summer. Cheers to a wonderful start to the week.

Light Me Up

Just another casual day, chilling by a nearby park in Manhattan after my gym day. With a grey colour palette, Summer never really felt so good.IMG_0566 IMG_0563 IMG_0598 IMG_0593 IMG_0518 IMG_0573 IMG_0665 IMG_0615 IMG_0652

Fringe Top- Necessary Clothing | Pants- Forever 21 | Ivy Boots- Miista | Jewelry- Vintage

Finally so happy to share this look here on the blog because I am literally obsessed with this fringe top that I brought about a month ago while store gazing in Necessary Clothing in Soho, NY. The texture of this top is unbelievably soft and so comfortable that I wish I could literally wear it everyday. But since I can’t necessarily do that, I’ve already styled it in so many ways, and will probably be one of my go-to tops for this summer. I really love that the fringe placement on the top is in a different place than the usual hem line placement and the fact that its a very loose fitting top, makes for extra ease and comfort.

For this look in particular, I decided to go with pairing this fringe top with lighter grey pant that has have really cool seam detailing going on and of course my Miista floral boots came in handy when it came to finding a pair of shoes to go with this look. Let me know in the comments below how you would style this look and I can’t wait to share more fun stuff with you soon.

Echoes In The Halls

IMG_0361

As I enjoy this sizzling summer, I choose to go pretty simple with my daily outfits. With messy untouched hair, light make-up and a two piece sets…it definitely makes for a comfortable day visiting my favourite cafe spot in Brooklyn.IMG_0425 IMG_0410 IMG_0393 IMG_0459 IMG_0364 IMG_0450 IMG_0358Top & Shorts Set- Forever 21 | Vest- Nasty Gal | Boots- H&M

This look is a completely toned down version of my last post, as I chose to go a lot more simpler with the styling of this white lace two piece shorts set. I literally fell so in love with this set when I first saw it because it was so simple and elegant and felt like one of those pieces that could easily transition into almost any occasion. I could definitely see myself pairing each piece as a stand alone because the richness of the lace makes for a item for combining with other pieces in my closet.

I decided to keep it pretty simple with just layering lightly with my black vest and a solid pair of dark brown boots that are super comfortable and easy to wear. I sort of wished I wore a necklace or maybe a choker, but sometimes just being simple works perfectly.

Blu Contour

One of those fun sunny days, when I can throw on a two piece set and feel comfortable for the weather yet fashionable for the perfect Summer’s day.IMG_0242IMG_0253 IMG_0304 IMG_0250IMG_0292IMG_0299 IMG_0225Two Piece Shorts Set- Necessary Clothing  | Boots- Zara | Sunglasses- Similar

Even though the we’re not even mid way through Summer, I’ve already found a major go-to items which is two piece sets. I find them very easy to wear and style but the one I’m wearing int his post it possibly my top favorite. The brightness of the blue along with the white floral motifs makes for a beautiful combination which is why I went a lot more simple in the accessorizing department.

I thought these sweet aviator shades would be a great touch for this look, just for a bit of an edge for a look that could have easily came off as too cutesy. I wore this look to have brunch with a friend in Williamsburg in Brooklyn and this was the perfect outfit for me because I was able to keep cool since it was blazing hot that day in NYC.

I’d love to hear how you guys would style this look and I’m happy to be back blogging regularly again. Have an awesome day.

Conservatory Plaid

IMG_9443 IMG_9503

Visiting one of my favourite places in New York, where I go to sit and think but also enjoy the view of the beautiful garden. Decked out in a school girl plaid trousers and light layers on top for a great transitional Spring attire.IMG_9532 IMG_9545 IMG_9488 IMG_9393 IMG_9412 IMG_9529 IMG_9397

Trousers- Nasty Gal, Crochet Top- Forever 21, Vest- Forever 21, Boots- Zara

Whenever I find myself having free time, I love to head all the way up to 105th street to the conservatory garden in central park. It gets really beautiful this time of the year and can be such a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the scenery if you’re into the whole being with nature thing. As for me, I went there during my Spring break and wanted to stay forever.

I wore a red and blue number that day because completely out of nowhere I felt like having some colour in my life. I believe I’ve worn this plaid trousers before here about a few months back on the blog but styled it completely different (here). This time around, I wanted to play with the colours in the plaid so I layered my crochet top underneath a beautiful baby blue vest as a way of bring out the colours then on top, I wore my navy “Sorry Not Sorry” jacket since it was a bit chilly. I’m here excited to do more shoots like this one and I can’t wait to share on here!

Consolation

It’s Spring but where are the blooming flowers and warm weather? IMG_9151 2 IMG_9158 2 IMG_9199 2 IMG_9186 2 IMG_9155 2 IMG_9185 2

Cropped Sweater- Zara, Floral Dress- Forever 21, Coat- Zara, Boots- Jeffrey Campbell

I feel like it’s about time that the weather here in New York stopped fooling around and give us some consistency. I’m so tired about complaining about the weather and I just want it to be warm already.

For this look I juxtaposed a floral dress and layered it under my cropped sweater with a black skinny pant. Since I technically can’t wear a full on mini spring dress without freezing to death, I thought it would be cool to start combining my spring clothes with the more winter items. Soon enough I’ll be pulling out all my fun Spring wear but for now I’ll have fun experimenting.

Sweater- Necessary Clothing, Flannel Shirt- Similar, Amaya Boots- Miista

So I’m not sure whats it with me, but I’ve been particularly obsessed with this bright royal/cobalt blue and green combination. Something about two primary colours could seem a little odd and use to throw me off sometimes but clearly not anymore. It’s finally getting warm enough here in New York so I can start to wear more of my skirts and dresses again very soon.

For this look, I took a little throwback grunge element from one of my past looks…which is this beautiful olive green sweater that I ripped up quite a bit. Underneath, I thought it would be nice to layer with a complimentary flannel skirt with my favourite biker jacket. I kept it pretty simple with the make-up, I’m been going a lot more clean around the eyes instead of my usual dark cat eye, mainly because I kind of like an almost all natural look. Let me know what you think of this post, I can’t wait to start posting more often again and thanks a lot of visiting!

Winter Daylight

Plaid and knits in the Winter, for a chill day out in the city.IMG_8841IMG_8867 IMG_8826 IMG_8921 IMG_8905 IMG_8893

Beanie- Urban Outfitters, Boots- Zara, Pants- H&M, Biker Jacket- H&M

Things have been so hectic for me, juggling about a thousand projects all at once, making it quite difficult to manage my time better with blogging. I’ve missed it so much and finally decided to drop everything and post this look I wore a few weeks back, just before I was heading out to have lunch in the city.

Chunky, cozy sweaters have always been a strong go-to for me mainly because I get to be warm and comfortable yet I’m able to dress the look up or down if I choose to. Here I’m wearing this tan shade sweater that I possible stole from my sister because I knew she was never going to wear it, and I paired it with my plaid trousers  for a touch of print that wasn’t screaming “look at me” but, was more of a nice compliment to the neutral of the sweater. I had to wear a huge coat over this entire look but for the purpose of showing the look I opted to leave the coat behind and show the styling with my favourite biker jacket.

I’ll definitely be back to blogging more regularly very soon! thanks so much for being patient with me and I read all your lovely comments <3  have an awesome week.
